Forbidden and Restricted Advertisements

1-Forbidden Advertisements

forbids the following types of advertisements:

1-Advertisement of Alcohol

2-Direct advertisement of cigarettes

3-Advertising gambling

4-Advertising weapons, explosives, or fireworks

5-Advertising books and magazines containing horoscopes, predictions of the future, etc...

6-Advertisements encouraging any types of nursing as a substitute for maternal, natural nursing

2-Restricted Advertisements

Restricts the production and airing of specific items and trades until a permit is obtained from the proper authorities and they are as follows:

1-Advertisements of medicines or medicinal products that have not been licensed by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Housing

2-Advertisements of agricultural fertilizers and pesticides that have not been licensed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources and the other proper authorities

3-Advertisement of banks that have not been fully licensed by the Yemen Central Bank

4-Advertising trade unions, labor guilds, and trade associations, their meetings,  elections, and the results of these elections unless the advertisement is issued by the Ministry of Labour

5-Advertisement of foreign embassies or consulates unless it is through the Foreign Ministry

6-Advertising academic, artistic, or cultural newspapers, magazines, books, and articles except those licensed for advertisement by the Ministry of Information or the Ministry of Culture, depending on the specialization of the advertisement

7-Advertising religious pilgrimage(Hajj, Umra, etc.) unless licensed by the Ministry of Endowment and Guidance

8-Advertising of housing projects and residential buildings unless permission is issued from the proper authorities with the purpose of insuring that there are no safety hazards and that all legal procedures have been completed.
